Dr, Scott Richardson is an Associate Professor at RMIT University in Singapore. Previously, he was the Director of Academic Affairs and Head of School at the Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School. He was also an Adjunct Associate Professor at Torrens University Australia and an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. Dr. Richardson was awarded his PhD from Griffith University, Australia and has worked at a number of Australian and International Universities. Dr. Richardson also has extensive tourism and hospitality industry experience having worked in the industry for more than 10 years. During this period Dr. Richardson worked in hotels, tourism and events companies and the travel industry. In his most recent industry role, Dr. Richardson was employed as the Assistant General Manager of an Accor property in Victoria.
Dr. Richardson is the author of more than 30 publications in leading tourism and hospitality journals and conference proceedings and is a member of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation Panel of Tourism Experts. Much of his research has centered on work based learning with his PhD thesis investigating the impact work experience has on tourism and hospitality students perceptions of future careers in the industry and his Honours thesis focused on the benefits of work based learning programs in tertiary hospitality degrees.
